The Role: Assistant Commercial Manager

12 month fixed term contract/ secondment

The Heritage Propositions team is made up of subject matter experts with extensive knowledge of M&G’s insured propositions and a deep understanding of the legislative, regulatory and tax framework within which the products are operated.

The Conduct & Enablement team ensures that Heritage Propositions are operating within M&G Prudential’s Conduct Risk appetite, including the provision of First Line Risk & Controls support across the business area and providing oversight and co-ordination of regulatory change implementation across Heritage Propositions.

  • Accountable for providing a quality service or product to customers and stakeholders, using skills/experience built through significant practical experience or training
  • Works within established frameworks and procedures, with the freedom to interpret them to solve a range of problems
  • Delivers outputs that are clearly defined, using discretion over how to achieve them
  • Makes suggestions for improvements to the work of the team, based on previous experience and knowledge of similar situations

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • Providing oversight and co-ordination of regulatory change implementation across Heritage Propositions.
  • To provide 1st line risk support to the business area.
  • To support the review, development and maintenance of existing PAC insured propositions under the direction of a Commercial Manager.
  • Work with the wider business to co-ordinate the management of end to end delivery and proposition experience (e.g. product, service, distribution etc.) to ensure expectations are met.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement to existing products / propositions and position these with the relevant Commercial Manager for review.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • We are looking for a talented professional from the life and pension industry with a proven life and pensions product and technical background.
  • A confident communicator and relationship builder, with strong business analysis and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills – able to work well under pressure, balancing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to deal with a wide range of business stakeholders at all levels within and outside the organisation. This is a collaborative role, working with various teams across the business as well as outsourced service providers and other third parties.
