Summary:
This position includes the ability to make decisions, delegate work, problem analysis, and promptness to ensure the client’s needs are met on a timely basis. The Assistant Claims Manager will work closely with the Claims Manager to manage customer satisfaction and participate in carrier or other related audits and form a solid working relationship with all stakeholders including carriers, Lloyd’s brokers, clients and agents. Claims handling, particularly complex claims.
Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Management duties:
- Assist in the management, coaching and mentoring of the claims team
- Oversee insurance claims for property or casualty loss based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage
- Managing workflow and adjusting for priorities for claims processing.
- Process monthly reports required for carrier reporting.
- In conjunction with Claims Manager, monitor activities to confirm that staff and resources are optimized, make changes as needed
- Work with others in support of Proctor’s clients and carrier partners
- Conduct QA File reviews
- Assist with special projects as needed and act as a backup within the department
Claims Handling Duties:
- Familiarity with standard property claim concepts, procedures, and best practices
- Working with multiple insurance carriers to ensure complete and sound claim settlements, legal reviews and investigations when necessary
- Compliance with carrier and or state requirements related to the claim activity
- Review of claims files, and making of phone calls to the appropriate parties (adjuster, carrier or insured) for information needed to complete the claim
- Enter check information into the Claims System print corresponding letter; mail the letter and check to the insured
- Review all reports and correspondence related to the claim and make appropriate entries in the claim diary; document important phone conversations in the claim diary

Required:
- High school diploma/GED
- Minimum of 5 years of property and casualty claims experience
- Lender Placed claims experience
- Proficient with MS Office- specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be licensed in all 50 states within 12-24 months of start date in position
- Exceptional telephone demeanor
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Pursues a course of personal, professional development
- A high level of creativity and latitude
Preferred:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a business or financial related discipline
Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:
- Repetitive motion. Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day.
- Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day.
- Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
- Sedentary position. Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per day.
- Worker not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
Pay Ranges:
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including skills, experience, work location and more. We offer competitive pay while still allowing for compensation growth within the position and company.
