What We Want

The Assistant Athletic Director, NIL Strategy & Development, under general director, supports and advances Texas A&M's Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) initiatives across all sports. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for NIL, this position assists in the development, communication, and execution of comprehensive NIL strategies that enhance student-athlete opportunities, brand exposure, and revenue generation. The role also serves as a liaison to coaches, student-athletes and external partners while ensuring administrative accuracy, regulatory compliance and effective coordination of NIL related operations.

Responsibilities

Collaboration:

  • Assist Senior Associate Athletic Director, NIL Strategy & Development with day-to-day tasks, including, but not limited to, creating and executing strategic NIL initiatives to support Texas A&M and student-athletes through the Aggie NIL portfolio.

  • Assist in understanding and communicating third-party NIL initiatives and revenue strategy with head coaches and administration.

  • Assist with the development and execution of comprehensive NIL strategies that drive new revenue streams for Texas A&M student-athletes and enhance Texas A&M’s brand exposure.

  • Primarily manage NIL initiatives/strategy for non-revenue generating sports.

  • Share critical knowledge, collaborate, and manage internal and external requests from student-athletes, coaches, staff, recruits, families, alumni, boosters, and sponsors.

  • Analyze performance metrics to evaluate NIL ROI and prepare strategic recommendations for program growth to Texas A&M leadership.

  • Collaborate with 12th Man Production/Creative teams to amplify student-athlete storytelling and branding.

        

NIL Liaison:

  • Serve as secondary point of contact with coaches, administration and external partners such as Playfly, TexAgs, Texas Aggies United, donors and fans.

  • Support Playfly MMR and Playfly Max teams on overall NIL strategies best suited for Texas A&M and its student-athletes.

  • Provide support with NIL Go submissions between third-parties and student-athletes.

  • Manage relationships with external NIL partners and provide technical and strategic support to student-athletes on all NIL platforms.

  • Provide regular NIL activity reports to Athletics.

  • Create a comprehensive recruiting package outlining Aggie NIL initiatives.

 

Administration & Compliance:

  • Draft and distribute marketing materials and communications to promote NIL partnerships, educational opportunities, and department updates.

  • Conduct legal research as necessary to proactively analyze developments in applicable state, federal, and NCAA laws.

  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Conference and University rules and regulations.

  • Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.       

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Four years' experience in or a combination of: Athletic administration, Legal, contracts, business affairs (NIL), Athletic-Specific Deals (sponsorship agreements, multimedia rights agreements, commercial partnerships, entertainment, or consumer brands)

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in sports management, business, law, marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience working with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) programs within intercollegiate athletics.

  • Familiarity with NCAA, conference, and state NIL regulations and compliance processes.

  • Experience collaborating with external partners such as sponsors, collectives, or multimedia rights holders.

  • Demonstrated ability to support strategic initiatives, analyze performance metrics, and prepare reports for leadership.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • General knowledge of NCAA rules.

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

  • Oral and written communication skills.
