Job Description Summary
The Assistant AD will perform a variety of tasks and functions to oversee and assist with day-to-day and event/game operations for all athletic programs.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Directs the management and planning of all assigned home athletic contests for varsity sports and over 100 events.
- Manages full-time and temporary event and facility operations staff.
- Hires and organizes employees necessary to prepare facilities for the constant fluctuation of events.
- Develops visiting team guides for all assigned sports.
- Coordinates all practice and game day management aspects associated with all assigned intercollegiate athletic events.
- Supervises all assigned sport budgets and concession operations.
- Coordinates facility maintenance with University Turf and Maintenance departments to ensure safe and competitive conditions.
- Reports any potential ACC and NCAA rules violations to the Associate AD, Athletic Event and Facility Operations and Director of Athletics.
- Produces new editions of department publications.
- Serves in the secondary support role for preparations and game management of all home football games
- Primary gameday manager for men’s basketball games including oversight and execution of postseason events.
- Primary liaison to third-party venue management partner (Legends Global) specifically in regard to the operation and management of LJVM Coliseum
- Primary event manager for Men’s & Women’s Golf and Track & Field events
- Assists with monitoring athletic facility usage via EMS Scheduling Software.
- Assists in the execution of all athletic department guest service initiatives.
- Participates in the development and execution of all athletic department emergency policies and procedures
- Tracks and monitors assigned budgets. Supervises all assigned sports concession operations and budgets.
- Involved in decision-making as it relates to crowd control, game management, and facility usage.
- Secondary contact with University departments, other ACC institution’s athletic departments, vendors, security, general public, and administrators.
- Research and analyze potential revenue generation and feasibility of hosting various community events in the athletic department’s facilities.
- Foster collaboration with campus partners.
- Serve on campus, community, ACC and NCAA Committees as requested.
- Coordinates use of assigned athletic facilities by non-Wake Forest Athletics entities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Education, Experience, and Training:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 3-5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- General knowledge of all ACC and NCAA competition guidelines related to game management.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to communicate with various constituents, general public, student, coaches, and administrators.
- Ability to hire, train, and terminate full-time staff, interns, game day staff, volunteers, and student assistants.
- Ability to manage budgets.
- Ability to handle safety, facility, security, and game management issues.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
- Strong work ethic.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Customer service oriented.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to research and resolve game management issues and conflicts, problems and questions.
- Ability to coordinate and organize a workforce of up to 25 people.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to meet the requirements of the University’s automobile insurance policy.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Assists with providing instruction, direction, and problem-solving assistance to event and facility operations staff. Supervises all interns, game day staff, volunteers, and student assistants.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Sports Management degree or coursework preferred.
- Previous experience working within an intercollegiate athletic program in the event management area preferred.
- Previous oversight of full-time staff.

Physical Requirements:
Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently, and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
