Job Summary
The Assistant Area Sales Manager is responsible for supporting the execution of sales strategies and operational excellence within the assigned area. This role focuses on ensuring sales target achievement, monitoring team performance, overseeing distributor operations, and strengthening market execution to drive sustainable business growth.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Sales Target Achievement
Support the ASM in meeting monthly and annual sales targets (volume, revenue, profit).
Monitor daily sales performance and identify gaps vs. targets.
Provide recommendations and action plans based on sales analysis.
2. Sales Team Management
Supervise and coach Sales Supervisors, Sales Representatives, and field teams.
Conduct field accompaniment, joint visits, and coaching sessions.
Ensure adherence to call procedures, journey plans, and coverage effectiveness.
3. Program Execution & Market Activation
Ensure effective implementation of trade promotions, bundling programs, and marketing activities.
Monitor product visibility, merchandising standards, and planogram compliance.
Manage product availability and ensure timely execution of market activities.
4. Distributor & Operational Management
Oversee distributor performance, including stock levels, AR, aging, and delivery operations.
Review sales-out, sales-in, coverage, and distribution KPIs.
Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure smooth stock flow and minimize OOS issues.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and insights.
Analyze competitor activities, pricing, market trends, and customer behavior.
Provide data-driven recommendations to improve area performance.
6. Customer Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with key outlets, wholesalers, and retailers.
Handle customer issues and ensure swift resolution.
Support new account development and retention initiatives.
