Salary Range: $40000 - $43500 Per Year

Job Summary: This position is located at MWR Community Recreation Division in Fort Campbell, KY - MWR Aquatics. This position is eligible for the NAF benefits package and leave accrual. Major Duties:

  • Assist the Aquatics Manager in the supervision of the aquatic programs.
  • Assist with establishing aquatic certification program curriculum to include lifeguarding, lifeguard instructor, water safety instructor, and water fitness instructor.
  • Assist with planning and administering a wide range of aquatic activities to include swim lessons, special events, clinics, intramural swim meets, and other aquatic safety, fitness, and recreational programs.
  • Assist Aquatics Manager with APF and NAF budget. Assist with the development and update of the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies.
  • Assists with maintaining, ensuring accountability and proper operating condition of equipment. Assist Aquatics Manager with purchasing materials, equipment, and other program related supplies.

A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic programs. Experience may have been gained managing indoor or outdoor aquatic programs and facilities. Required experience must have been equivalent to the next lower grade level. Current certification in Life guarding or Life guarding instructor, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent. The following certificates must be obtained within 12 months of appointment: Water Safety Instructor - Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Pool Operator certification In addition, for facilities that use Automated External Defibrillator "AED's" and Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles" the following certificate must be obtained within two weeks of reporting for duty: AED and O2 Administration In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Lifeguard Certified(Red Cross) Water Safety Instructor Certified (Red Cross) Aquatic Exercise Certified (Various agencies) **Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first.
