Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and families to achieve housing stability and build better lives? We are seeking a committed and experienced Asset Officer to join our team and make a tangible impact through the delivery of high-quality tenancy and property management services.

As an Asset Officer, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive maintenance management services to tenants across our housing programs. This includes ensuring regular and emergency maintenance are kept up to date and tenants are well informed and supported in their requests. You will also play a key role in building strong relationships with tenants, service providers, and internal teams to support holistic and client-focused outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Proactively identify tenant maintenance needs, assess priorities, and clearly communicate expectations to tenants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate and supervise contractors on-site to ensure quality workmanship and timely delivery.
  • Undertake property-related tasks including inspections, scoping of works, quality audits, and follow-up actions.
  • Manage maintenance workflows, ensuring invoicing, reporting, and records are accurate and completed within required timeframes.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with organisational standards, relevant legislation, Australian Standards, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.

Requirements for Success

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role and experience in social and/or affordable housing is desirable
  • Trade qualifications are highly regarded
  • Experience in contractor and stakeholder management
  • Knowledge & application of relevant legislation requirements, codes & standards that relate to buildings, workplace health and safety
  • Experience in managing site maintenance budgets, work orders and requisitions
  • Previous experience working on a CMMS (Computerised maintenance management system), MS Office programs including Excel
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with the team, tenants and within a community
  • Ability to complete property site inspection visits and assess maintenance works for compliance against quality expectations and specifications
  • Current drivers’ licence

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, referee checks, and WWCC.
