Asset Management at Ventas oversees performance and strategy across a diverse real estate portfolio spanning senior living, medical office and research assets. The team blends rigorous analytics, disciplined execution and deep operator and tenant engagement to drive NOI, enhance asset value and support long-term portfolio health. Asset Management partners closely with Investments, FP&A, Development, Legal, Finance and other functions to ensure alignment on priorities and to execute initiatives that strengthen both individual assets and the broader platform.

About the Role

The Manager, Asset Management is responsible for day-to-day oversight and performance management of a defined portfolio. This role applies strong analytical and operational judgment to evaluate asset performance, identify opportunities, and support initiatives that drive NOI growth and long-term value creation. The Manager serves as a primary point of contact for operators and tenants, maintaining alignment on performance expectations and operational priorities.

In addition to recurring performance reviews and partner engagement, the Manager supports a range of portfolio initiatives including capital planning, transitions, reforecast cycles, competitive analyses, and market evaluations. This role delivers actionable insights to leadership through disciplined analysis, structured reporting, and strong data stewardship while maintaining high-quality operational processes across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day performance of assigned assets, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities

  • Conduct asset-level and market-level analyses to inform strategic recommendations

  • Collaborate with operators and tenants to address performance gaps and support improvement plans

  • Execute key portfolio actions including transitions, dispositions, capital initiatives, and reforecast cycles

  • Prepare reporting materials and analytical insights for leadership discussions and portfolio reviews

  • Maintain accurate portfolio data and ensure system integrity

  • Partner with Investments, FP&A, Development, Legal, and Finance to support integrated decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in asset management, real estate finance, consulting, FP&A or operations

  • Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and performance trends

  • Effective communicator capable of influencing operators, tenants, and internal stakeholders

  • Highly organized and adaptable in a lean, fast-paced environment

  • Must be located in Chicago, IL or New York, NY surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employment

  • Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operations

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future

The estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $200,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
