Service Stream's VRMC team are on the hunt for an experienced Asset Manager to join us at our Clayton office!

As a member of the Victorian Road Maintenance Contracts (VRMC) Contract Leadership Team (CLT), the Asset Manager acts as the steward of the network, working with their State Govt counterparts to understand asset condition and network risk. You will work collaboratively with the business and DTP to agree costed programs of work to minimise risk on the VRMC network. The successful candidate is a seasoned and inclusive leader who makes best-for-Contract decisions and implements change by taking people on a journey the Asset Manager is a potential successor to the Contract Manager and will have regular opportunities perform this role in an Acting capacity, as part of a structured career development program.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging, onboarding, training, developing and retaining a high-performing team for effective execution of all Asset Stewardship functions
- Developing and implementing asset management systems and work programs to deliver best for network (balancing budget and risk) outcomes. The principles of ISO 55001 will provide an important underpinning of this role.
- Risk management fundamentals and a comprehensive understanding of the causes of asset degradation in a road management context.
- Provide leadership to the team of Network Inspectors to ensure the contract accurately captures the condition of the network, comply to the contractual obligations in line with the 750PB framework and provide actionable intelligence on the underlying causes of condition.
- Experience of application of lean tools and thinking in the highways asset environment.
- Cost reporting and forecasting, cash flow analysis and claims management.
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, developing and implementing strategies to improve client and Service Stream outcomes.
About You:
- At least five years’ experience in senior leadership roles.
- Experience with asset and program management for long-term maintenance and capital/project works programs.
- Familiarity with handling annual budgets > $30 million
- Experience in relevant industries such as civil engineering, road network management, resources or heavy manufacturing.
- Detailed knowledge of civil construction and/or road network management practices, including access, permit and licensing requirements for road maintenance operations
- A track record in creating and establishing high performance cultures including setting, achieving and exceeding performance standards and KPIs
- A drive for service excellence underpinned by strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills developed in an environment subject to daily government and public scrutiny
- Sound knowledge of financial and asset management / works information system interfaces
- A track record of fostering workforce diversity and engaging local organisations, including social enterprises and Aboriginal Businesses, to deliver services.
