Role title: Registered Nurse (Year 5 - 8)

Role type: Max term part time (24 hours per week until July 2026)

Department and location: Homeless Health Service, St Vincent's Hospital, Darlinghurst

Salary: $91,035.95 - $104,336.27 (pro-rata) + super

About the role

  • Delivering high quality, evidence-based nursing care to people who are experiencing primary homelessness, complex and co-occurring health and support needs in inner city Sydney.

  • Deliver comprehensive assessments, clinical intervention, care coordination, and referral on an outreach basis.

  • Service provision is person-centred and aligned with the principles of trauma informed care and practice.

  • Collaborate with clients, their professional, cultural and social supports, and our multidisciplinary team to address cultural, holistic health, and support needs using a strengths-based, harm reduction approach.

  • Assist clients to access mainstream and specialist healthcare, support and accommodation to improve their health and wellbeing outcomes.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships and coordinate care with service providers and communities to strengthen client support networks.

  • Lead staff education, contribute to clinical reviews, and drive quality improvement across services.

About you:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.

  • At least 5 years’ experience delivering nursing assessment, treatment, and care coordination to people with complex health and support needs who are also experiencing homelessness.

  • Strong understanding of homelessness, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based frameworks, and committed to clinical supervision and professional development.

  • Confident team member who drives service development, education, and quality improvement initiatives, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Tech-savvy and mobile, comfortable with digital health records, and holds a current NSW Driver’s Licence.

There may be occasional early start times in this role.
