Job Description

ASP.net Application Developer

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced ASP.net Application Developer to contribute to the success of our technology initiatives. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for designing, configuring, and developing complex application systems using both existing and emerging technologies. You will collaborate closely with Delivery Managers, IT development teams, Architecture groups, and business stakeholders across multiple lines of business.

This position requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to support the bank’s ongoing technology transformation.

Responsibilities

Application Design, Development & Implementation

  • Participate in the design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of application solutions.

  • Develop and implement application systems using modern development tools and frameworks.

  • Create reusable components and front-end libraries to support scalable development.

  • Conduct performance testing and ensure optimized application performance.

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.

  • Implement automated testing strategies including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

  • Deploy and monitor applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

  • Ensure application security by integrating DevSecOps practices and automated vulnerability scanning.

  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers to maintain coding best practices.

Technical Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Assist in defining project timelines, estimating tasks, and analyzing cost and effort.

  • Perform change impact analysis and participate in system maintenance activities.

  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to system functions and programming.

  • Optimize resource utilization and monitor system performance.

  • Integrate third‑party services, maintain API documentation, and ensure consistent design patterns.

Operational Excellence

  • Participate in post‑implementation reviews to strengthen delivery processes.

  • Monitor operating efficiency of existing applications and recommend improvements.

  • Write and maintain technical documentation, including installation and operating procedures.

  • Embrace and promote emerging technology opportunities in support of the bank’s modernization strategy.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.

  • At least five years of experience developing and implementing application systems.

Preferred Skills / Experience

Core Engineering Skills

  • Strong hands‑on experience in ASP.NET front‑end web forms and VB .NET framework applications.

  • Proficiency in programming, application development tools, system design, and SDLC methodologies.

  • Expertise in application, system, and performance testing.

  • Experience with REST APIs and integration/testing tools such as Postman.

  • Strong SQL skills including writing queries, stored procedures, and triggers (MSSQL preferred).

  • Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse, NetBeans, or Visual Studio.

  • Experience with version control and automation tools like Git and Jenkins.

Cloud, DevOps & Automation

  • Strong understanding of AWS services including VPC, IAM, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, EC2, and RDS.

  • Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments.

  • Knowledge of Linux OS, shell scripting, and networking fundamentals.

  • Experience with automation/configuration tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Terraform.

  • Understanding of IT standards, policies, change control, and application maintenance.

Development Methodologies

  • Experience working in Agile Scrum and Kanban environments.

  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to continuous improvement.

Location expectations 
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
