Asphalt Planner

We are looking for an organised, commercially minded Asphalt Planner to play a pivotal role in ensuring first‑class service to our customers and seamless coordination across internal teams. If you thrive in a fast‑paced environment, enjoy problem‑solving, and excel at balancing customer needs with operational efficiency, this role could be for you.

Purpose of the Role

To ensure the best possible service is provided to customers and internal departments, whilst taking commercial, economic and quality considerations fully into account.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify customer requirements and make the most effective and economic use of company resources to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Negotiate delivery times to the mutual benefit of both the customer and the company

  • Decide delivery priorities during supply constraints and liaise closely with weighbridge teams

  • Proactively work with weighbridge personnel to anticipate and resolve potential service issues

  • Manage forward programming by communicating with customers regarding future orders and utilising spare capacity

  • Negotiate delivery programmes that deliver value for both customers and the business

  • Monitor daily delivery programmes and keep customers informed of delivery status

  • Accurately capture and amend customer orders

  • Maintain and update dispatch comments with accurate and timely information

  • Investigate and resolve customer queries efficiently

  • Use desktop text systems to update key personnel on planning and delivery issues

  • Build strong working relationships with customers and internal departments

  • Manage customer complaints, escalating to third parties where appropriate

  • Produce Order Centre reports as required

  • Maintain a consistently professional demeanour at all times

  • Act as the company representative for planning‑related issues outside normal working hours
