Summary:

The Quality Assurance Pharmacist at Aspen RxHealth helps support the overall vision, goals, and objectives for pharmacist facing solutions. The in-house Quality Assurance Pharmacist functions primarily as a clinical quality assurance auditor and may have other duties from time to time such as completing telephonic clinical consultations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Audit consultations submitted by community pharmacists and provide clear, constructive, written feedback on established documents.
  • Deliver patient-care opportunities when needed. Examples include but are not limited to: Providing Medication Therapy Management consultations to patients or occasional telephonic outreach to prescribers, patients or pharmacies.
  • Support quality monitoring and performance improvement of MTM-specific and overall, Aspen RxHealth system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist is required, with a valid pharmacy license.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college/university.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Active and current pharmacy license in any state required.
  • Residency and Board certification preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Strongly preferred: Pharmacists fluent in Spanish, Chinese, Cantonese, Korean, or Vietnamese.
  • Tasks are repetitive in nature and require meeting established production quotas.
  • Strong clinical skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong data entry skills.
  • Ability to efficiently navigate multiple windows and screens simultaneously.
  • Quick learner that is adept at utilizing various software applications while adhering to instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented.

Reasoning Ability

                                   

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical Skills

  • Candidates must have an understanding of pharmaceutical calculations including fractions, decimals, ratios, proportions, percentages, and medication dosing.

     

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a variety of people such as managers, colleagues, and clients.

Work Location

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees and colleagues.  

Working Hours

This is an exempt level position requiring the incumbent to work the hours required to fully accomplish job responsibilities and reasonably meet deadlines for work deliverables. The individual must have the flexibility to work beyond traditional hours and be able to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required.  Work hours may be changed from time to time to meet the needs of the business.  Typical core business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time.

Travel

This position requires no travel; however attendance may be required at various local conferences and meetings.
