Who We Are
Our work focuses on helping homeless animals, animals who are the victims of cruelty and neglect and animals whose owners face barriers to accessing veterinary services. By providing free or low-cost care to those most in need, training veterinarians and students, and conducting clinical research that we share with the larger veterinary field, the ASPCA makes a lasting impact to expand the number of animals experiencing good welfare.
What You’ll Do
Whether you're interested in spay/neuter surgery, shelter medicine, general practice, forensic sciences, urgent care, or toxicology, at the ASPCA you can find a role that fits your skills and expertise. We offer opportunities to provide medical and surgical care to homeless animals, animals who are the victims of cruelty and neglect, and animals whose owners face barriers to accessing veterinary care. There are further opportunities to engage directly with under-resourced communities to help keep people and pets together, to deploy in the field to evaluate, rescue, and care for those in urgent need, to manage staff and lead teams, to support applied clinical research, to train students and interns, and more.
Where & When You’ll Work
We work in community veterinary clinics and hospitals, mobile clinics, shelter and rehabilitation centers and other settings in locations across the country — including regional remote positions. We offer a variety of shifts and employment opportunities, including full-time, part-time and relief work. When you apply, you will be able to share details about the types of work you’re interested in so we can match you with available opportunities that align with your career goals.
What You’ll Get
Compensation
The applicable target hiring range varies by role and where the employee works and its respective cost of labor. Compensation ranges for on-site, non-toxicology ASPCA veterinarian roles generally range between $123,000 - $179,500 annually, with specific ranges found in each job description.
Benefits
As the first animal welfare organization in North America and the leading voice within that movement, we see first-hand how the lives of animals and humans are intertwined. When you support one, you support the other. We also know our greatest impact occurs when our care for vulnerable animals is matched by our care for each other. With this in mind, our benefits for most positions include, but are not limited to:
Beyond our standard benefits, the culture, resources and opportunities available to ASPCA veterinarians offer even more reasons to join our team.
