Job Description:
This job is responsible for analyzing a private or public organization's capital structure and evaluating investment and credit risk. Key responsibilities include monitoring capital markets and/or individual companies' business position and providing data-driven insights regarding the future performance of the company's securities or capital markets. Job expectations include having industry knowledge and analyzing new investment strategies by back testing new data sets, such as Natural Language Processing data products.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverages insights gathered from research to provide recommendations on the purchase, sale, or holding of securities to institutional clients
  • Collects information related to the prices, sales, government programs, and market trends and develops sales strategies accordingly
  • Analyzes the organization's capital structure and prepares reports and presentations for institutional clients and industry groups to communicate future performance of the company's securities or capital markets
  • Collaborates with the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) research team to analyze implications of ESG attributes in investment processes
  • Develops and maintains databases and indicators for critical research products, while producing collaborative reports with analysis findings

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years of experience in equity research, wholesale credit, buy side experience or investment banking experience
  • Experience with econometric software and data and news services
  • Experience with quantitative analysis and database management
  • Experience with macroeconomic modeling and statistical and quantitative analysis
  • Understanding of finance, accounting, economics, international affairs and politics
  • Builds strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration
  • Executes multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Applies learnings and adapts new information to identify appropriate client solutions
  • Strong computer application skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrates willingness to travel at least 25% of the time

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in finance or a related quantitative field
  • Holds or is working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst and/or other relevant professional certifications
  • Experience with data analysis using quantitative research and programming
  • Experience with sell side research, established content generation and/or presentation franchise
