ASIC Engineer

At NVIDIA, we are looking for ASIC Interns to join our world-class hardware teams. As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge designs that power GPUs, CPUs, SoCs, and VLSI systems for next generation computing platforms. Depending on your interests and skills, you could contribute to architecture, design, or verification across domains such as high-performance graphics, AI processors, VLSI design, and advanced CPU and SoC technologies.

GPU Architecture Team
Focuses on developing high-performance, power-efficient GPUs through architecture modeling, analysis, and performance verification.

GPU ASIC Design & Verification Team
Works on next-generation PCIe controllers for GPUs and SoCs, using advanced verification methodologies to ensure robust design and performance.

Tegra SoC Design & Verification Team
Designs and validates processors powering graphics, video, mobile communications, high-speed I/O, and memory subsystems with emphasis on low-power design.

CPU Verification Team
Builds and verifies 64-bit ARM CPUs and SoCs, with opportunities to learn computer architecture, SystemVerilog, and verification methodologies at a granular level.

VLSI Team
VLSI team works in the areas of RTL Design, Verification, Design for Test, CAD tools, Synthesis, Timing, Place & Route, Circuit Design, Silicon Bring-up and Characterization. Responsible for state-of-the-art methodologies,

tools, flows and projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • C++/SystemVerilog modeling, test development, and RTL design/debug
  • Architecture, micro-architecture, and performance verification
  • Developing verification environments (e.g., UVM), test plans, and reusable components
  • Scripting and automation with Python/Perl
  • Performance evaluation, power estimation, and low-power verification
  • Collaboration with architects, designers, and post-silicon teams

What We Need to See

  • Strong academic background; pursuing B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or Electronics & Communication (or related field)
  • Understanding of programming languages and processor/SoC architecture
  • Good grasp of operating system fundamentals & digital design concepts
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work in teams
