Artificial Intelligence Leader

The Artificial Intelligence Leader at Sensata will lead our enterprise-wide AI strategy and initiatives, driving innovation and transformation across all business functions—including engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and corporate operations—within a global manufacturing and technology organization. This role is responsible for shaping and executing AI strategies that deliver scalable solutions and measurable impact, leveraging industrial and enterprise data to unlock new efficiencies, insights, and capabilities.
This role is part of Sensata’s Growth and Transformation Office and will report directly to the Executive Vice President and Chief Growth and Transformation Officer.

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the company’s AI strategy

  • Identify AI opportunities across operations, businesses and functions to drive innovation and efficiency.

  • Define and manage the AI roadmap focused on high-impact use cases such as predictive maintenance, intelligent automation, customer analytics, and operational optimization.

  • Stay ahead of AI trends and ensure the organization remains competitive.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of AI researchers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

Project Oversight

  • Oversee end-to-end AI project lifecycles, including data acquisition, model development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and ethical use of AI technologies.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with executives, product teams, and IT to integrate AI into products and service, while ensuring secure and scalable infrastructure  

  • Translate complex AI concepts into actionable business insights and business friendly language

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning across the organization.

Governance & Ethics

  • Establish frameworks for responsible AI use, including bias mitigation and data privacy.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging standards in AI ethics and governance to inform strategic decisions.

  • Maintain clear documentation of AI systems, processes, and governance protocols for audit readiness and cross-functional transparency.

 

Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work equivalent required, advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or related field preferred.

  • Strong foundation in machine learning, data science, and software engineering.

  • Experience in leading AI initiatives or R&D ideally within manufacturing or engineering

  • Strategic thinking and communication skills.

  • Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams in a matrixed organization.

  • Strong understanding of industrial and enterprise data sources, and integration with AI platforms.

  • Demonstrated ability to align AI strategy with business goals and deliver measurable outcomes.

  • Commitment to ethical AI practices, data governance, and regulatory compliance.

  • Customer-focused approach to solution design, with a deep understanding of operational and business challenges.

  • Travel required is ~25%

Base Salary Range:

$268,500.00 - $369,270.00
