Why This Role Matters
The Apprentice Art Technician role provides technical art handling expertise and operational support across the following operational teams; Incoming Goods, Collections, Warehouse, Salerooom & Inventory Management. The role must maintain and champion Christie’s Art Handling guidelines. Art Technicians are responsible for managing the flow of inventory through Christie’s and supporting key business activities such as photography on arrival through to preparing a item for private client view. Art Technicians are responsible for maintaining accurate inventory, preparing reports and proactively managing the volume and type of property at King Street. The role of Art Technician is both varied and challenging and requires a high degree of enthusiasm and energy.
How You'll Make an Impact
Support art handling activities across operations at Christie’s King Street
Facilitate the flow of client property, ensuring all items are tagged and condition checked with all product movement recorded accurately in Christie’s inventory management system
Support processing & capturing dimensions for all incoming items to King Street
Report immediately to line manager any damages, losses or inventory discrepancies
Work across warehouse functions and property types, for example Flat Art, Objects and Luxury
Facilitate business requirement to photograph property on arrival
Provide logistical support for specialists during cataloguing and hilling sessions
Liaise with saleroom operations to ensure the sale is ready to transfer at the agreed date
When supporting saleroom operations prepare pre-sale views as instructed by saleroom Art Tech
Ensure all warehouse zones have the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation
Support stock checks and Inventory Management responsibilities
Collaborate with Inventory Management and Specialist Departments to reduce the volume of aged stock stored at King Street

Competent with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Desire to learn, impart knowledge to team and take on new challenges
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, with some weekend work required to meet the needs of the business
