School: North Star Academy: Located in Parker, CO, North Star Academy, a public charter school in Douglas County School District serving 675 PK-8 students, is seeking a Part -Time Art Teacher Founded in 2006, NSA is a National School of Character and John Irwin School of Excellence. Our school’s mission is to provide a Core Knowledge education with an integrated Spanish language program that challenges students to meet their highest potential through differentiated academic instruction and rich social and cultural experiences within a safe, orderly and nurturing environment.

Overview:
North Star Academy is seeking a Part-Time morning Art Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This position reports to the principal.
Responsibilities:
Specific duties include (other duties may be assigned):
• Background in teaching elementary art
• Broad knowledge of methods and mediums
• Thorough understanding of Art History, especially as to how it is taught in Core Knowledge.
• Ability to maintain a weekly website over all grade levels
• Strong organizational skills in the storage and maintenance of materials and art pieces
• Ability to provide ongoing art displays as well as a major spring Art Show
• Communicate with parents and teachers clearly and concisely.
• Excellent command of discipline in all grade levels.
• Maintains best practices through embedded staff development provided by North Star Academy
and/or professional growth activities and university courses.
• Participates cooperatively with the other Art teacher, other specials teachers, Principal or Assistant
Principals by which s/he will be evaluated.
• Follows all policies and procedures established by the North Star Academy Board of Directors and Administration.

Experience/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
