Position Summary

Provides outpatient psychiatric consultation services including, but not limited to diagnostic, medication management, and therapeutic intervention recommendations. Supports various clinical teams which could include integrated mental health therapists, collaborative care teams, primary care providers, allied support staff and others. Other role responsibilities include providing the care team with educational support on diagnosing/ managing behavioral health conditions and providing diagnostic clarifying one-time psychiatric evaluations.Responsibilities • Provides psychiatric evaluations when required to clarify treatment recommendations. • Provide regularly scheduled caseload consultation to Integrated Mental Health Therapist. • Completes all required documentation within timeframes specified in the MultiCare Health System Ambulatory Electronic Health Record Completion policy. • Demonstrates a positive attitude and efforts toward meeting the needs of internal and external customers. • Uses English effectively to send and receive messages, oral and written, in a clear, positive, prompt, and appropriate manner. • Attend and participate in team meetings and other agency meetings as requested. • Provides back-up coverage for absent medical staff as needed. • Works with Integrated Mental Health Therapist to oversee the status and population health of their assigned patient caseload. • Requires adherence to practice standards, agency standards, contracts, and Washington Administrative Codes. • May supervise graduate medical students (nurse practitioner students, residents). • Expert knowledge of psychotropic medications. • Experience in community mental health. • Able to effectively partner with severely and persistently mentally ill patients. • Basic computer and keyboard skills. • Excellent assessment, evaluation, and clinical skills. • Requires the ability to sit for prolonged periods. • Requires the willingness and ability to work varied hours when necessary. • Demonstrate effective de-escalation skills. Requirements • Meets state of Washington licensure requirements by the time of employment. • Advanced Reg Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority license - Washington Department of Health. • American Nurses Credentialing Center Board Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Across the Lifespan) Certification (PMHNP-BC™) or if one of the following active certifications (available for renewal only). • Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification (PMHNP-BC) • Adult Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification (PMHCNS-BC) • Child/Adolescent Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification (PMHCNS-BC) • Current Health Care Provider level BLS certification such as American Heart Association or American Red Cross. • DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $156,000.00 - $167,800.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
