Army Finance and Systems Project Manager

cBEYONData + SMX is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a diverse team that supports our Department of Defense customer. The project is focused on data and capability protection within the financial business domain. This Project Manager will provide project oversight, task tracking and prioritization, briefing and reporting development, and lead customer interactions. Candidates should have nuanced understanding of managing a diverse portfolio of projects, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and working in a fluid, iterative fast paced environment. This is a full-time position on a multi-year contract. The role will be performed primarily onsite with occasional remote activities.

Responsibilities

  • Onsite work in Arlington, VA is required for this role
  • Serve as a primary corporate and customer-facing point of contact, working closely with senior functional subject matter experts for client management, business development, and project strategy and implementation
  • Oversee and manage a diverse team including both technical and functional resources
  • Work closely with customer stakeholders to meet or exceed all expectations; maintain communication lines with customer and be fluent in explaining the importance and impacts of decisions being made
  • Be responsible for health of the project including factors such as scope, budget, profitability, schedule and delivery milestones
  • Conduct project and task management activities and create and maintain associated artifacts; create, maintain, and close out administrative and project processes as required
  • Manage project-level issues and risks, including mitigation strategies and impact analysis
  • Communicate project status upward and downward/internally and externally so that all project details are transparent and known
  • Develop required briefing decks, presentations, status reports, e-mails, and ad-hoc discussions
  • Integrate and ensure actions across projects are properly coordinated and deliverables are produced reliably and timely. Collect emergent action items, work closely with client and senior functional leads to understand priorities, assign tasks to staff, and track completion
  • Support meetings in person at multiple sites around Crystal City, VA for diverse ongoing projects
  • Attend and host workshops with customers and stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of their current business processes, issues, technology footprint, future goals and objectives

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
  • Top Secret Clearance required
  • 10 years of experience in project management or resource management in the government consulting space
  • Experience with complex problem-solving strategies. Able to determine the source of a problem and find effective solution(s) through an in-depth evaluation of varying factors. Strong capacity for abstract reasoning and creative visioning
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with client services including business development
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high quality work under time constraints
  • Demonstrated experience leading and working with cross functional teams
  • Demonstrated experience working remotely with clients and team members
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills to successfully interact with colleagues and executive client leadership

The proposed salary for this position is:
$132,400$222,400 USD
