Major Duties:

  • What to Expect: Oversees and manages financial operating budget and day-to-day operations, maintenance, and cleanliness for Onslow Beach area, which is comprised of robust recreation programming, numerous cabins and cottages, RV park/campgrounds, gazebo and conference rooms, and guarded open waters. Supervises the Assistant General Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, and is the second level supervisor for their teams. Directly responsible for ensuring services and facilities meet or exceed expectations for cleanliness and entertainment. Develops and directs new policies or innovative promotions to increase occupancy rate, deliver quality guest services and maintain or increase the required level of profitability. Establishes, administers, and maintains systems for safe and secure operations of all facilities at Onslow Beach. Develops and directs standard operating procedures (SOP) and desktop procedures to ensure consistent operations for guests and staff. Manages and oversees activities and facilities located at Onslow Beach to include, but not limited to, numerous recreational lodging units of various sizes, multiple sites at RV Park/Campgrounds, beachfront operation to include beach equipment rental, facility management of public beachfront pavilions and meeting spaces, and all related beachfront operations and services. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Performs other related duties as assigned. This position is designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (nature or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

Qualifications: What are we looking for? A minimum of four years customer service experience managing a resort/hotel operation, one year having been at a supervisory level. A Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) designation certification is preferred. A successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in Resort/Hotel Management, Recreation Management, OR related field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, OR a combination of related experience and education. Experience with a Property Management System (PMS) is required. Experience with financial management principles and budget process. Knowledge of Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) policies and procedures is preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
