About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
About the Role
The Marketing Agent Engineer is an embedded hands-on technical builder who sits directly inside the Salesforce Marketing function. This role exists to identify the workflows that consume the most time across Marketing — campaign creation, audience building, content production, performance reporting — and build the agents that handle them end to end.
This is not an IT role and not a consulting role. You are embedded inside Marketing, reporting to Marketing leadership, working alongside the people who do the work every day. Your success is measured in workflow hours saved and campaigns shipped faster — not tickets closed.
We are looking for someone who can build and think. You are as comfortable designing a workflow on a whiteboard as you are connecting systems and shipping a working agent the same week. You understand that automating a marketing workflow is not just a technical problem — it involves brand judgment, stakeholder approvals, and decisions that have to stay human. You know where to draw that line and you build accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
Workflow Discovery & Mapping
Embed with Marketing strategy and operations leads to identify the highest-value, most time-intensive repeatable workflows across the function
Map each workflow end to end — every step, every handoff, every decision point — and identify where agents can take over and where humans need to stay in the loop
Prioritize across a long list of possible workflows and maintain a clear roadmap of what gets built next
Building & Connecting
Build agents that handle full workflows — drafting campaign briefs, pulling performance data, routing approvals, generating content — connected to the tools Marketing already uses: Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, Slack, Google Workspace
Connect agents securely to internal systems, managing access and permissions in line with Digital Enterprise Technology, Security and Data Classification requirements
Iterate fast. Ship working agents, learn from the team using them, and improve continuously
Measurement & Communication
Define clear success metrics for every workflow automated — time saved, steps removed, error rates reduced
Write and maintain a roadmap that non-technical Marketing leaders can read, understand, and make decisions from
Communicate trade-offs clearly. Not every workflow should be automated - know the difference and be able to explain it
Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow by pushing the boundaries of AI development tools to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code.
Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate seamlessly into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale.
Contribute to building and maintaining the shared system context, an explicit repository of system designs, constraints, and standards that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably.
Critically evaluate code (Human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance
Required Qualifications
9+ years of experience building software, automated workflows, or systems integrations — you have shipped real things that real people use
Demonstrated experience connecting enterprise tools via APIs, MCP — Salesforce, Slack, Google Workspace, or similar
Experience designing or building AI-assisted workflows — you have worked with agents or large language models in a production setting, not just experimentation
Strong written communication — you can write a workflow map, a project brief, and a stakeholder update with equal clarity
Experience working directly with a business team — marketing, sales, operations, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with Agentforce, Marketing Cloud, or the Salesforce platform
Background that spans both engineering and product or operations — you have played both roles, formally or informally
Experience as a founding engineer, early-stage startup operator, or in a role where you had to build without much infrastructure around you
Salesforce certifications: Administrator, Marketing Cloud, or Agentforce Specialist
A demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering. Using AI to move faster, build fluency across the stack, and contribute well beyond your core specialty
Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, etc.) in development workflows
Advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate the system context that makes AI outputs reliable, secure, and production-ready
