 Position Summary: 

We are looking for an experienced, visionary, hands-on Architect to modernize our Digital Banking Solution to align with Bottomline’s strategic goal.  

More than 5 trillion payments originate from our Digital Banking solutions every year and are used by 17 of the top 50 US banks, based on asset size. 

 Your role is going to be crucial in shaping the future of Digital Banking solutions.  

You will be leading the modernization journey, managing design and implementation, meeting a high level of code quality and unparalleled user experience, while driving engineering excellence. 

 You should possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, formal and informal) and be comfortable working with global agile teams that have autonomy and complete ownership. 

 This position is based at our Bangalore, India office. 

Responsibilities: 

• Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, platforms, and tools to support application-wide transformation and innovation.  

• Lead the development of current and target state architecture models and transition roadmaps.  

• Collaborate with Security, DevOps, and Engineering teams to bring in best in class solutions in the target state architecture 

• Ensure alignment with business strategies, technology capabilities, and IT investments.  

• Provide architecture governance and participate in design reviews across multiple product teams 

• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory requirements within the FinTech and banking sectors.  

• Think differently and foster a culture of curiosity, reasoning and innovation. 

 We’re excited about you if you have:  

• Bachelor's/master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. 

• 15+ years of technical leadership experience  

• Technical Leadership 

• High technical credibility - ability to audit technical decisions and push for the best solution to a problem. 

• Sound technical foundation of single and multi-tier architecture, web-based development, and Services Oriented Architecture.  

• Proven experience in moving from monolithic to microservice architecture in complex systems, with cloud-native system design 

• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, APIs, and integration patterns 

• Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms 

• Strong experience with Java, Spring, and Camel 

• Familiarity with observability tools like Elastic, Splunk, Grafana, and other microservices tools 

• Knowledge of scalability and availability best practices 

• Ability and willingness to analyze and integrate inputs from technical and business resources to draw clear conclusions. 

• Ability to see the big picture, while not losing sight of necessary details 

• Experience with SaaS platforms, financial applications, and payment ecosystems is highly desirable.
