THE JOB:
Discover your next adventure and create a career unlike any other at Shark Reef Aquarium inside Mandalay Bay! As an Aquarist, you’ll support the day-to-day care of the aquarium while gaining exposure to our Education and Life Support teams. It’s a unique opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the mission of Shark Reef creating unforgettable experiences for our guests while upholding the highest standards of animal care and property excellence.
THE STARTING RATE: $18.95
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Assist the curator and lead aquarist in the husbandry and life support of aquarium systems and daily care of animal exhibits
Participates in specimen transports
Monitors and maintains water quality in exhibits
Prepares diets, feeds the animals and cares for exhibits in accordance with established protocols
Maintains accurate daily records for aquarium systems and exhibit specimens
Interacts with guests, management, veterinarians and other individuals
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Experience with aquatic animal care in a professional aquarium environment
Undergraduate Degree in Life Sciences
High School Diploma or GED
Must be 18 years of age or older
