APAC Derivatives Market Making Software Engineer (C13)
Citi's Equities Technology organization is seeking a Software Engineer to join the APAC Derivatives Market Making technology team. The person in this role will be responsible for the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge, low-latency trading applications that drive Citi's derivatives trading strategies across the Asia-Pacific region.
The engineer will collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers and work closely with traders, quantitative analysts, risk management functions, and other engineering teams across the region.
Responsibilities
- Core Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, low-latency trading applications supporting derivatives market making activities across the Asia-Pacific region.
- Product Collaboration: Partner with traders, quantitative analysts, and risk management teams to gather requirements, analyze technical specifications, and translate them into robust, innovative product features and enhancements.
- Performance Optimization: Optimize application performance to ensure ultra-low latency and high throughput for critical trading functions, including pricing, hedging, and order management.
- Testing: Continuously improve and maintain automated testing frameworks, development tools, and environments to ensure platform reliability and performance at scale.
- AI-Powered SDLC: Leverage Citi's suite of AI-powered development tools throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance productivity, code quality, and innovation.
- Agile & CI/CD: Implement Agile development practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes with a focus on shift-left testing and accelerated release cycles.
- Platform Support & Enhancement: Build and maintain common solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, application recovery, and other essential support functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of experience with strong technical knowledge and expertise in Low latency Java
- Prior experience developing derivatives trading or market making platforms in a global financial institution or equivalent environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of derivatives products (options, futures, warrants, CBBCs, etc.) and market making concepts.
- Good understanding and practical experience with relational databases (e.g., Sybase) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and Continuous Integration processes.
- Familiarity with low-latency system design, including performance optimization, concurrency, and high-throughput architecture.
- Experience with C++, Python, React, Linux performance tuning, or HTML5 is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, set goals, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a demonstrable ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, multicultural, cross-regional environment.
Education
- Bachelor's degree / University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
