Description

The Apprentice Simulator Technician supports the availability and operational readiness of in-service simulation training equipment in accordance with contractual requirements. This role focuses on learning, assisting, and progressively performing technical tasks related to simulator operations, maintenance, and certification under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Learning to prepare simulation training equipment for daily operation by performing standard operational readiness checks.
  • Learning and performing preventive maintenance in accordance with published schedules for each training device.
  • Learning and conducting Qualification Test Guide (QTG) activities according to published monthly schedules.
  • Learning to load appropriate exercise scenarios and complete other required tasks to support specific training sessions.
  • Learning to investigate reported snags, verify simulator functionality, and resolve basic operational and maintenance issues.
  • Assisting with the restoration of failed equipment or escalating issues to more qualified or experienced personnel when required.
  • Learning and performing housekeeping activities and completing journey logs at the start and end of scheduled training sessions.
  • Assisting senior engineers with maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and certification-related tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a technical college qualification.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Basic understanding of and interest in aviation and aircraft systems.
  • Proficiency in standard PC applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel).
  • Intermediate English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest and some exposure to mechanical and electrical engineering systems.
  • Prior hands-on experience in a technical, maintenance, or training equipment environment (academic, internship, or entry-level experience acceptable).
