Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the Service Supervisor, the Journeyperson mechanic will be responsible for tear down, Inspection and rebuilding of all types of major components on a variety of Caterpillar equipment. These positions are located out of our Finning Regina branch on a 7x7 12hr shift.
Job Description:
Major Job Functions
- Tear down, Inspect for reusability and rebuild all types of Cat major components including transmissions, torques, differentials, final drives, brakes and various others
- Tear down, Inspect for reusability and rebuild all types of Cat engines including 3500 series.
- Working with the Supervisor on various tasks
- Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
- Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
- Various related duties as required
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
Specific Skills & Experience
- Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
- Heavy Duty Technician, Truck and Transport, Ag and Experienced automotive technicians will be considered
- Apprentice mechanics will also be considered for this posting
- Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
- Understanding of the Caterpillar product line and machines as asset
- Engine and/or component rebuilding experience or equivalent mechanical experience
- Transmission or hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
- Engine dynamometer testing would be considered an asset
- Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
- General computer proficiency with experience with MS word, PowerPoint etc.
