JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Utah County Assessor's office is responsible for classifying all property in the county; in cooperation with the Recorder's office, associate ownership with the property; establishing a taxable value for all property subject to property taxation; and compiling this information into reports that are utilized by the Auditor's office to calculate tax rates and the Treasurer's office for collections.

Appraiser III - Applicants must possess a certification as Certified General Appraiser with the Utah State Department of Commerce.

Appraiser II - Applicants must possess a certification as Certified Residential Appraiser or higher with the Utah State Department of Commerce.

Appraiser I - Applicants must possess a certification as Licensed Residential Appraiser or higher with the Utah State Department of Commerce.

The Opportunity:

Under general guidance and direction of the Commercial Appraisal Supervisor, performs essential work processes to collect data relating to new construction. Ensures building permit inspections are completed in a timely manner. Performs essential work processes to maintain the legislative-mandated five-year residential property characteristic review cycle. Represent Assessor’s Office in Board of Equalization appeals and hearings.

Starting Pay: Appraiser III - Commercial - Grade 727 $37.88 - $43.55 Hourly

Appraiser II - Commercial - Grade 725 $32.94 - $37.88 Hourly

Appraiser I - Commercial - Grade 723 $28.67 - $32.94 Hourly

Schedule: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday

Job Qualifications: Appraiser III - Commercial

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher.
2. Three (3) years of work experience as a residential or commercial appraiser.

3. Applicants must possess a certification as Certified General Appraiser with the Utah State Department of Commerce.

Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes:

1. Preference may be given to applicants with work experience in assessing.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
1. Applicants must obtain designation as Ad Valorem General with the Utah State Tax Commission within two (2) years of employment.
2. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver’s license within sixty (60) days of employment.
3. Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Job Qualifications: Appraiser II - Commercial

1. Associate’s degree or higher, or equivalency as defined in Utah State Code.

2. Two (2) years of work experience as a residential or commercial appraiser.

3. Applicants must possess a certification as Certified Residential Appraiser or higher with the Utah State Department of Commerce.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
