Join our mission to advance AI-powered healthcare. We are seeking a Professional Applied AI Engineer to help design and implement next-generation solutions within our AI platform team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of scalable, pragmatic, and effective AI systems that support our core business objectives.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate in the design and development of generative AI systems, including LLM-powered applications, multi-agent workflows, RAG, and domain-specific reasoning engines.
  • Develop, test, and maintain APIs and platform features that integrate AI into business workflows.
  • Build and optimize data, feature, and evaluation pipelines to support reliable and evolving AI behavior.
  • Work closely with data scientists, platform engineers, and product managers to translate conceptual solutions into robust, testable, and observable production systems.
  • Adhere to established engineering standards and contribute to a culture of quality, clarity, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in code reviews, documentation, and team knowledge sharing.
  • Support observability, measurement, and operational excellence to ensure deployed systems are maintainable and high-performing.
  • Stay informed on AI/ML advancements and support adoption of relevant new technologies.
  • Help drive improvements in healthcare delivery and member satisfaction through technical contributions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in software or platform engineering.
  • Proficient in Python, with experience building production services or libraries.
  • Hands-on experience with applied AI systems, such as LLM integration, RAG, or embeddings.
  • Familiarity with machine learning engineering concepts, such as model deployment, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Working knowledge of FastAPI, Flask, or similar frameworks, and REST/gRPC service design.
  • Experience with cloud development on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Exposure to containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and DevOps practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver quality solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to generative AI tooling (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, PydanticAI).
  • Understanding of deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
  • Experience with distributed systems or platforms.
  • Experience working on platform development or complex production applications.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to balance innovation with maintainability.

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


 

$97,900 - $133,500 per year


 

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
