Applications Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

What You'll Do

  • Write automatic scripts to support the evaluation and testing of NXP reference designs and evaluation modules (EVMs).
  • Port software from Windows to various other OS and SoC platforms.
  • Assist in PCB board rework and maintenance.
  • Participate in lab experiments, measurements, and validation of hardware prototypes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to tools, processes, and workflows.
  • Document procedures and generate test reports.

What You'll Bring

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with basic circuit design, programming languages (Python, C/C++).
  • Hands-on skills in using soldering and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, multimeters).
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from experienced engineers.

The base salary range for this position is as mentioned below per year. We also provide competitive benefits, incentive compensation, and/or equity for certain roles.

Please note that the base salary range (OR hourly rate) is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary based on a number of factors such as qualifications, skill level, work location, and other business and organizational needs. This base pay range is specific to California and is not applicable to other locations. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range as of the date of this posting is:

$64,480 to $107,500 annually
