Job Description:
THIS IS AN ONSITE ROLE LOCATED IN SPOKANE, WASHINGTON.
SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, the Sales Support Engineer acts as a liaison between the Customer, Regional Sales Manager and Company team members by communicating with the Customer to aid in developing project scope through development of initial project details and capabilities such as line layouts, speed calculations, and 3rd party equipment integration.
Best fit for this position is someone who likes people, is a proactive communicator, a problem solver and is organized. The preferred candidate will develop the details needed to assist internal and external customers in planning machine choice and placement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sales Duties
Review historical Engineering and Sales documents to answer sales request for upgrade and retrofits to existing equipment.
Provide sales support for new equipment and retrofit sales team members by analyzing applications and selecting best-fit configurations based on customer needs and performance targets.
Prepare and manage machine and retrofit quotes, both domestic and international from quote to Purchase Order receipt, corresponding with staff as needed.
Communicates with Finishing Machine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEMs) to obtain required performance data for new orders.
Coordinates integration of 3rd party devices and equipment.
Communicates with Customers to acquire product mix and performance requirements.
Act as technical liaison between AMSI and the customer. Assists with estimating productivity (run speeds and setup times) on customer supplied box samples or drawings.
Collect customer data, samples and specifications and support engineering as required to generate Engineering Price Estimate’s (EPE).
Supports Sales Territories and Customers by developing cross functionality with Sales Admins through training on appropriate systems; supports quotes and order entry when Sales Admin is unavailable.
Communicate shipping and logistics info to stakeholders.
Prepares Data Sheets through customer site visits with the outside sales team or through data gathered by the outside sales team.
Under direct supervision, prepares preliminary risk and complexity assessments for projects.
Make quarterly visits with Salesmen to customer sites.
Travel as needed, including ability to travel out of the country
TECHNICAL DUTIES
Under direct supervision, develops preliminary floor plans, analyzes initial layouts, identifies customer conditions and limitations, and communicates with regional sales managers and/or agents.
Under direct supervision, assists with designing and estimating conveyor layouts and control packages for proper product flow. Coordinates these layouts with Customers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no direct reports and is not directly responsible for managing others.
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred BS/BA in Engineering, Business Administration
Project Management experience, Certificate a plus
Ability to travel
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
3-5 years sales experience
Willingness to travel 25% of time
Background in Mechanical systems
A team player with good communication and people skills
Strong project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Organization skills that support the ability to prioritize tasks
Excellent interpersonal and customer Service skills
Ability to establish and manage customer relationships
Able to travel out of the country, if needed
Experience in the following software packages
Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, etc.)
MS Teams & SharePoint
MS Dynamics 365
AutoCAD
Physical Requirements

Compensation: $75,000-90,000 salary (DOE)
