POSITION SPECIFICS

We are searching for a team-oriented Applications Developer to join our Information Technology Services Office at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. ARL Information Technology Services provides ARL’s administrative and research computing environments and capabilities, delivering secure, responsive, efficient, effective, and compliant IT services and operations to meet the demanding needs of ARL’s leading edge research.

ARL is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.

You will:

  • Contribute as part of an agile development team to build web-based applications in support of ARL business needs

  • Use low-code framework to accelerate software development

  • Test, debug, modify, and maintain developed applications

  • Track, update, and document work requests

  • Collaborate with ARL stakeholders to assess needs and requirements

  • Collaborate with team members on design, debug, and testing activities

Required skills/experience areas include:

  • Understanding of DevExpress Cross-Platform .NET App UI (XAF) .NET framework

  • Skills developing applications for the Windows platform

  • Knowledge of EF Core

  • Familiarity with Jira (Atlassian software tool) for development tasking

  • Familiarity with Confluence (Atlassian software tool) for managing requirements and documentation

  • Strong Git skills in a team context for collaborative version control

  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher and may be subject to a government background investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility, if required

Preferred skills/experience areas include:

  • Past experience working as part of an Agile team

  • Debugging applications using Visual Studio Debugger

  • Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD)

Your working location can be fully remote, dependent on skillset and location, within Central Pennsylvania.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Associate Degree No prior relevant work experience required; previous relevant work experience accepted in lieu of education. Required Certifications: None

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $51,000.00 - $74,000.00.**THE PROPOSED SALARY RANGE MAY BE IMPACTED BY GEOGRAPHIC DIFFERENTIAL**
