Applications Coordinator Analyst EPIC III

Under minimal supervision of the IT Application Manager, the Application Coordinator/Analyst III is responsible for achieving extensive knowledge of assigned application(s) within the larger Epic system. The Application Coordinator/Analyst III collaborates independently with business and technical resources to lead projects and implement optimization of the system. Reporting to a GBMC Application Manager for Epic applications, the Application Coordinator/Analyst III will be responsible for reviewing Epic software, analyzing business operations and workflows, building the system in a manner that is efficient and meets the end users' needs, testing to ensure that it meets desired requirements, adhering to change control procedures and designing, develop and coordinate the materials and training environments for the delivery of education to users of the Epic system.

In addition, the Application Coordinator/Analyst III will be responsible for developing and implementing the internal procedures that will be used in conjunction with vendor 3rd party applications; working as an application and project lead during all phases of system implementations; troubleshooting problems or questions from users and resolving assigned helpdesk tickets. Participation in on-call rotation is required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional key responsibilities will be to demonstrate ability to devise moderately complex benchmarking metrics to assess system performance. Demonstrate an intermediate understanding of the clinical or business operations functions. Demonstrate attention to detail in data gathering, specifications development, and documentation and record keeping. Demonstrates intermediate degree of analytical skill and work under limited supervision in support of team initiatives.

Education:

Baccalaureate degree, education or health related field with educational courses. Professional certification(s) and/or related experience beyond minimum training experience qualifications may substitute for formal education requirement.  Registered Nurse or Pharmacist license preferred for clinical analyst applications.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Experience:

  • Two-years operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business operations setting or two years’ experience in Information Technology.
  • 18 months Epic analyst experience.
  • Extensive understanding of the workflows in clinical or healthcare business operations.

Skills:

  • Utilize highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships that foster optimal quality teamwork and education.
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Analyze, assess, prioritize, and solve complex business and technical problems.
  • Ability to incorporate policies, procedures, and specific clinical practice and/or business processing needs into information systems training.
  • Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize outstanding work.
  • Extensive critical thinking skills of the clinical/business operations software applications.
  • Detailed understanding of clinical/business operations workflows and system configuration gained by participating in validation sessions with project team members and assisting in system design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical design techniques for related software applications.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles as they relate to assigned tasks.
  • Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks to project leadership
  • Provide all Tier level support to end users

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience with implementing clinical and/or healthcare business information systems in a large-scale and complex healthcare organization.
  • Epic certification in the module(s) being represented.
  • Experience in Epic installations.
  • Knowledge of the current healthcare environment preferred.
  • Experience in developing business and/or clinical workflows related to the assigned application module.

Licensures, Certifications:

Required to complete and pass certification in assigned Epic application module(s) within 120 days of employment in this role.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish project timeline with appropriate stakeholders. Manage project to achieve agreed timeline
  • Responsible for full life cycle of large sized complex projects which can span an entire department, division, or organization-wide level.
  • Demonstrates advanced interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with department heads, organizational personnel, vendors, and consultants while leading projects.
  • Demonstrates advanced skills with complex projects in creating detailed documentation, including system design documentation, procedures, process and data flows, project plans, and recommendations for system enhancements and replacements.
  • Works as a member of a specific application team as well as with other application and technical teams.
  • Define highly complex business/clinical/education problems by meeting with clients to observe and understand current processes and the issues related to those processes.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation to include project charters, test scenarios, project schedule, test plans, etc.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field.
  • Supports multiple concurrent work efforts, educates and coaches other team members, and works with minimal supervision in support of team initiatives.
  • Review and coordinate SUs and multi-application projects; will act as project, testing or migration lead.
  • Develop improvement processes for operational use by the team to ensure successful completion of a project or IT process.
  • Leads and mentors lower-level analysts in the development, implementation, and problem resolution of an application through planning, scheduling, assigning, coordinating, and reviewing tasks performed by team members.
  • Troubleshoots data coming across an interface into an Epic application meets the business need.
  • Implement changes by adhering to the change management policies and procedures for any given project to communicate to all parties the nature, significance, and risk factors of the solution.
  • Provide ongoing, high-quality support to stakeholders by providing timely and courteous service.
  • Works with report writers to develop and monitor organizational data needs.
  • Takes on on-call support as application support as assigned per IT on-call support schedule.

Pay Range

$77,201.00 - $138,961.82

Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
