Application Support Specialist

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Specialist (or Finance Systems Consultant as you’d be known as internally), to join our Finance IT team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the support, configuration, and continuous improvement of Finance Systems across the organization.

This position combines hands-on application support with functional consulting responsibilities, requiring a strong blend of technical expertise and business process understanding.

Reports to

This role reports to our Application Support Manager.

What will you do?

Application Support

  • Manage day-to-day application support activities in coordination with the Team Lead of Application Support.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents or service requests, prioritizing based on business impact.
  • Document all support activities, resolutions, and procedures in the helpdesk ticketing system.
  • Test system upgrades, patches, and enhancements to ensure stability and functionality.
  • Prepare and maintain system and user documentation.

Consulting & Configuration

  • Provide functional and configuration expertise for Finance Systems within the organization.
  • Collaborate with CFO, CHRO functions and other business units to gather and analyze user requirements.
  • Prepare Business Specifications and documentation in line with internal standards.
  • Configure and optimize systems to support business processes.
  • Participate in testing, user training, and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) cycles.
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts to resolve complex issues or implement enhancements.
  • Participate in system upgrades, new releases, and project implementations.

What are we looking for?

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in application support or system consulting.
  • Experience with Finance Systems (Preferably SAP) and/or Document Management and/or Business Intelligence platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate business needs into system solutions.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office (especially Excel and Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Team player with a high level of self-organization and a collaborative personality.
  • Ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical users.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, JIRA) and SharePoint.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles or financial data models.
  • Knowledge of Greek, Russian is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project lifecycle management.

Work mode

  • Hybrid (3 days of work from the office)
  • This role isn't eligible for relocation or immigration support.
