General Description:
The Application Integration Architect and Integration Center of Excellence (CoE) Lead is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and delivery of enterprise-wide application integrations across BeOne’s global IT landscape within Global Technology Services. This role focuses on API-based, event-driven, and cloud-native integration patterns to enable scalable, secure, and resilient data and process interoperability between internal systems and external partners.
As the technical leader for application integration, this role also establishes and leads the Integration Center of Excellence, defines integration architecture standards, governs API design and lifecycle management, and partners closely with business, data, security, and application teams to support digital transformation and enterprise modernization initiatives.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Lead the overall enterprise application integration architecture with a primary focus on API-based and event-driven integrations.
- Establish, lead, and evolve the enterprise Integration Center of Excellence, including standards, governance, operating model, and best practices.
- Define and maintain integration standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Establish and govern API lifecycle management including design standards, versioning, security, and documentation.
- Architect integrations across SaaS, cloud, and on-premises platforms.
- Partner with enterprise architecture, application owners, and data teams to align integration solutions with enterprise strategy.
- Collaborate with information security to ensure compliance and data privacy.
- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to integration teams.
- Evaluate and select integration technologies and platforms.
- Review and approve integration designs.
- Provide delivery oversight for integration initiatives, ensuring high-quality, on-time outcomes while leveraging system integrators and managed service providers for execution.
- Partner with service providers to ensure adherence to architectural standards, delivery best practices, and service-level expectations.
- Support global business initiatives through scalable system integrations.
- Mentor and develop integration architects and engineers.
Qualifications:
- Eight or more years of experience in application integration, middleware, or enterprise architecture roles.
- Strong expertise in API-based integration design.
- Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and SaaS integrations.
- Experience with iPaaS platforms; Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud experience is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry is strongly preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with regulated environments is a plus.
- Experience working with system integrators or managed service providers and overseeing outsourced delivery is preferred.
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides technical leadership and architectural direction.
- Leads the Integration Center of Excellence and influences integration delivery across Global Technology Services.
- May have direct or matrixed responsibility for integration staff.
- Mentors team members and influences technical decisions.
