Position summary:

Power Systems is the Rolls-Royce business which provides world-class power solutions and complete life-cycle support under our product and solution brand mtu. Through digitalization and electrification, we strive to develop drive and power generation solutions that provide answers to the challenges posed by the rapidly growing societal demands for energy and mobility.

We deliver and service comprehensive, powerful and reliable systems, based on both gas and diesel engines, as well as electrified hybrid systems. These technologically advanced solutions serve our customers in the marine and infrastructure sectors worldwide.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Assisting the Mining Application Engineering and Sales team with on-going projects and tasks

  • Supporting Application Engineering with End Product Questionnaire (EPQ) preparation and documentation

  • Promoting the sale of mtu products by providing technical data to internal and external customers

  • Creating, reviewing and updating engineering tools (e.g.. technical presentations, documentation and training material)

  • Keeping management informed of current workload, issues and future assignments

  • Adhering to company work hours, policies and procedures as well as rules governing professional staff behavior

  • Adhering to company and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information

  • Maintaining professional relationships with company employees, clients and customers, both internally and externally

  • Representing the company professionally in all interactions both internally and externally

Who we’re looking for:

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others

  • Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills

  • Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

  • Ability to use shop tools and mechanical and/or electronic instruments

Preferred:

  • Experience with testing, data collection and analysis

  • Ability to use shop tools and mechanical and/or electronic instruments

  • Knowledge of diesel engines

  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others

  • Ability to use shop tools and mechanical and/or electronic instruments

Relevant majors:

Attending an accredited college/university and will be continuing your education after the internship. You must be working towards a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

Minimum GPA: 3.0, lower GPA considered if coupled with relevant experience.
