Position Overview:

The Application Engineering Intern – Embedded Systems will identify and build an embedded systems related project while assisting in creating and delivering technical resources to help customers better utilize Digi-Key’s offering of embedded components (e.g., microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, sensors, actuators) and their supporting development platforms as relate to that project.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, collect, and organize technical content that is deployed online for customer engineers to learn about and apply embedded devices that Digi-Key sells.

  • Assist with content curation and working together with marketing leadership to ensure the technical content is on point with Digi-Key branding

  • Assist with technical content creation to drive engagement and quality leads

  • Create and curate technical content for various areas on the company website

  • Maintain technical competence through research, supplier trainings, and hands on learning

  • Provide suggestions and feedback on site features, functionality, and content to improve the customer experience

  • Manage multiple projects effectively and meet tight deadlines

  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Requirements/Skills:

  • Junior (or greater) in pursuit of an Electrial Engineering (EE), Electronic Engineering Tech (EET), Computer Engineering, or replated fields or study.

  • Cumulative GPA of, at least, 3.00

  • Ability to create, develop, and prototype embedded systems or digital logic solutions.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team while managing multiple projects

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a helpful customer service orientation

  • High organization and office software skills

  • Must demonstrate the following behavioral competencies: attention to detail, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, ethical conduct, initiative, manages execution, marketing capacity, personal effectiveness/credibility, positive attitude, problem solving/analysis, professionalism, project management, time management and thoroughness

  • Eligible for work in the United States of America without sponsorship

Physical Requirements:

  • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse, and screen 

  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body 

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is determined based on a candidate’s relevant experience and their most recently completed year of undergraduate education and/or the graduate program (Masters/PhD) they are pursuing.

  • For undergraduate applicants, the base pay range is $21.00 to $23.00.
  • For graduate applicants, the base pay rate is $26.00 for applicants pursuing a Masters degree and $29.00 for those pursuing a PhD.
