Job Description

As an Application Engineer, you bring customer applications to life by designing and supporting custom Low Voltage Motor Control Center (LVMCC) solutions. Each day blends technical engineering work, project management, and direct customer engagement. You will collaborate with Sales, Commercial Engineering, Development, Manufacturing, and Technical Support to understand customer needs, translate requirements into manufacturable designs, and ensure the final product aligns with quality and performance expectations. You will report to the Team Lead, Application Engineering and work onsite in Milwaukee, Wisconsin or Richland Center, Wisconsin.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret customer specifications, drawings, and application requirements to develop customized MCC solutions.
  • Complete sales orders from initial review through final release by creating and modifying electrical schematics, mechanical models, and complete Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Communicate technical questions, exceptions, decisions, and design rationale to customers and our teams.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to provide build instructions, resolve assembly issues, and ensure the final product meets customer needs and internal quality standards.
  • Lead projects across several industries, ensuring you meet milestone dates and deliverables while balancing technical, schedule, and commercial considerations.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States (Rockwell Automation will not sponsor visas now or in the future for this role).
  • A valid drivers license.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • 2+ years of experience working in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with electrical CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical) and mechanical CAD tools (e.g., Pro/Engineer/Creo).
  • Experience in motor control, power distribution, or related industrial systems.
  • Experience managing multiple engineering projects with defined milestones.
  • Prior experience in electrical or mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Rockwell Automation product experience.
