As an HVAC Chiller Application Engineer, you will support the design, selection, and implementation of chiller systems for a wide range of commercial and industrial applications. You will collaborate closely with sales teams, project managers, contractors, and clients to provide technical expertise, customer-focused solutions, and project support throughout all phases of the application process.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project requirements and recommend cost effective HVAC chiller solutions to meet clients’ needs, performance requirements and local codes.
- Perform technical calculations and system selections for chilled water systems, using industry-standard software and tools.
- Prepare technical proposals, submittal documents, and detailed system layouts for customer submission, ordering, installation and project execution.
- Provide technical support to project team, customers, and contractors regarding chiller selection, integration, installation, and testing.
- Coordinate and collaborate with procurement, sales, project delivery, pre-sales engineering, product management, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
- Assist project managers for technical evaluation and risk assessment during bid approval stage for solution review and feasibility assessment
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving design issues during project execution, commissioning, and after-sales support.
- Stay updated on the latest HVAC chiller technologies, codes, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and innovation in all solutions provided.
- Conduct product training and presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders as needed.
What we look for
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Refrigeration, HVAC Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC system applications, preferably with chiller systems.
- Strong understanding of chilled water system design, equipment selection, load calculations, and HVAC system integration.
- Proficiency with HVAC design and selection software (e.g., YORKWorks, Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, etc.).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
