Position Overview:
The Application Engineer supports Regal Rexnord’s NA Motor Solutions Air Moving business by partnering closely with customers to provide technical expertise and tailored product solutions. This role builds strong engineer‑to‑engineer relationships while collaborating cross‑functionally with engineering, product management, sales, manufacturing, and other teams to support customer applications and business initiatives. The position includes hands‑on lab and field work, participation in continuous improvement efforts, and occasional travel to support customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Represents Regal Rexnord values and culture in engagement with customers and build positive technical relationships with engineers at key customers
Develops a strong working knowledge of the products in the Air Moving Solutions portfolio and the applications they are typically used in and use that knowledge to provide technical support for customers and our customer-facing Regal Rexnord associates
Interacts with sales, marketing, product managers, customer service and customers on a regular basis to translate customer requirements into product specifications that meet customer and Regal Rexnord business needs.
Develops, tests, and validates product solutions to meet customer requirements, supporting application testing and customer approvals for both existing products and new developments in partnership with the NPD team.
Visits customers to support sales and marketing for new business opportunities, installations and troubleshooting.
Takes responsibility for and completes key tasks on a project-by-project basis and drives to meet deadlines ensuring project success.
Creates test plans to validate design concepts and material or manufacturing changes, summarizing results, and documenting conclusions.
Resolves challenges related to the interpretation of drawings, design tolerances, quality and material requirements.
Responsible for product failure/troubleshooting at RRX and customer sites.
Responsible for returned material analysis (RMA) and testing, conducts product tear-down analysis and populates data for benchmarking, root cause identification, corrective action forms and failure analysis.
Evaluates deviation or substitution requests from manufacturing/suppliers and provides guidance on resolution.
Works closely with manufacturing, quality and product engineering to problem solve issues.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering/mechanical engineering technology, electronics or equivalent experience and education.
Fluency in English.
Organizational skills, results and performance oriented.
Relationship and team building skills with high level of integrity and energy.
Technical knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Quick learner, self-directed, team player.
Computer proficiency in MS Office, with working knowledge of CRM, SAP/Oracle or other ERP systems.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to be an active listener amongst global and cross functional teams.
Flexibility with work hours to maintain a minimal backlog of projects or new customer opportunities.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
1-2 years’ experience.
Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
Experience in responding to technical inquiries, ECN’s, returned material analysis, product testing, benchmarking, and engineered to order designs.
Experience working with customers
Experience work with motoes.
Lean six sigma training/certification.
