POSITION SUMMARY

The Application Engineer I role supports the application of our products to meet customer process requirements. This position works closely with sales, engineering, and product management teams to provide technical assistance, documentation, and application knowledge. The role focuses on gathering customer requirements, assisting in product selection, and supporting prototype and validation activities. The position is ideal for individuals with foundational engineering experience and an interest in electromechanical systems and industrial applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Senior Application Engineer to evaluate customer requirements for blower applications (airflow, pressure, power, environment).
  • Interface with customer and sales team to clearly determine and understand criteria critical to the customer.
  • Prepare and present any technical feedback or information to sales, customers, or suppliers.
  • Manage timelines and actions for larger projects and new business opportunities. 
  • Write, perform, and review lab tests to validate product durability, performance, and suitability to customer application.
  • Troubleshoot application or performance issues with customer product in the lab or in the field.
  • Initiate and process documentation required to setup new product model numbers in Airtech system.
  • Own, Coordinate and oversee processing through shipment of prototype models to customers.
  • Facilitate product validation process for first production builds of new models.
  • Collaborate with procurement for prototype part quotes and BOM creation.
  • Approximately 25% business travel to support customers and sales team.

  • Self-motivated maintaining high ethical standard while showing initiative to anticipate/prevent issues by using advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to work well across all levels of the organization from Senior staff to Manufacturing employees.
  • Interpersonal savvy with sales and marketing acumen.
  • Ability to build followership and win respect of discerning customers.
  • Project management experience.  Ready to take ownership of entire project and willing to hold others accountable to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize as required.
  • Experienced in pneumatic technologies preferred. 
  • Knowledge of AC motors, Blowers and pumps preferred. 
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, experience with Creo and Solidworks PDM ideal but not required.
  • Basic understanding of how to read prints and interpret GD&T.
  • Proactive with a strong sense of ownership and drive to success utilizing available resources. 
  • Well organized must have ability to address tactical issues in the short-term while maintaining long-term project plan
  • Excellent communication/presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • Engineering experience and knowledge in industrial manufacturing.  Sales experience ideal but not required
  • 2+ years of work experience in a related field preferred, 
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $76,200.00 - $114,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
