Job Description:

This position is the Application Development Engineer(AE) of Industrial Adhesive and Tape Division(IATD). He/She will work with tapes and adhesives for various bonding applications in the Auto-Electrification and Automotive markets. The AE’s job is to develop applications for existing products, identify new product opportunities, and provide customers with technical and financial benefits. AE collaborates with various functions such as sales reps, marketing, and manufacturing sites globally. Through this strong collaboration, AE contributes to making the growth of 3M as one team.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Develop new applications and new business opportunities for 3M products and technology

• Active technical support to develop customer’s new application and to solve customer’s troubles

• Training 3M products and technology for customers to understand 3M products

• Putting 3M products spec.-in engineering drawings of key OEMs and Tiers & supporting business transfer to manufacturing locations throughout zones, regions, and subsidiaries

• Engage Industrial designers, design influencers and engineers to develop new business opportunities of various 3M bonding solutions.

• Ability to build strong collaborative relationship with customers

• Delivery 3M new product development process with 3M sales rep. to meet OEM application requirements

• Ability to manage complex situations & prioritize sales opportunity

• 3M 접착 solution인 테이프 및 접착제를 이해하고 이를 바탕으로 신규 적용 사례 개발 및 기술 지원

• 고객 문제 해결을 위한 3M 접착 solution 발굴, 고객 이윤 극대화를 위한 3M solution 최적화 

• 적극적 고객 기술 미팅을 통해 고객 요청 사항을 기술적으로 정확히 이해하여, 이를 통한 3M 제품의 신규 적용 사례 및 신규 사업 기회 발굴

• 고객과의 기술 협업을 주도하여 3M 제품을 이용한 고객 난제 해결, technical report 작성

• 신제품 및 신규 시장 개발을 위한 시장 흐름, 고객 요청 사항 분석

• 적극적인 3M 내부 기술 논의, 정확한 시장 통찰력을 바탕으로 한 3M 신제품 개발 방향 제안

• 전세계적인 3M global network을 이용한 기술 지식, 경험의 적극적인 공유 활동

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

• Educational background : Polymer science, Chemical engineering & Materials science/engineering

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in related area 

• Preferred multiple years experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Multiple years of experience with adhesive and tape technology

• Experience of spec.-in Key accounts in various market, Automotive, Auto-Electrification, Electronics and Appliance

• Experience with OEM, tier companies and contracted manufacturers

• Analysis of experimental data ( Excel, MiniTab and Six Sigma )

• Strong communications and organizational skills

• Experience working in a specification-based industry

• Knowledge in converting processes like die-cutting and slitting, and auto-dispensing adhesives

• English communication skills for coworking with global colleagues

• Enjoy pioneering new areas and challenging something new to develop yourself

• Experience with automated MFG processes, such as industrial robots or fully automated processes.

• 유관분야 석사 학위자 우대  (석사 학위는 경력으로 인정)

• 유관 제품 분야 2년 이상 경력

• 업무상 영어 활용 가능한 자

• 산업용 로봇, 자동화 공정 경력자 우대
