Job Description:
The Application Architect is a strategic and consultative role on the Cambria Digital Engineering Team. This person provides technical guidance and strategic direction to design and deliver diverse software systems. The role is responsible for the planning, analysis, and definition of future capabilities for one or more applications.
As a consultant, the Application Architect owns the "how" of solution delivery. This involves collaborating with Product Managers, Product Owners, Developers, and business stakeholders to define technical approaches that solve business problems and drive measurable outcomes using technology, data, and business processes.
As a strategist, the Application Architect is responsible for creating key project deliverables, including system context diagrams and technical design documents. You will work closely with Product Owners to refine user stories and provide guidance to development teams during regular standups to resolve ambiguity and provide direction. You will also define and maintain technology roadmaps that guide the strategic direction of Cambria.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Solution Design & Strategy: Collaborate with stakeholders and agile teams to define technology solutions for sales, marketing, and digital teams. Design Salesforce solutions that integrate with external systems, working closely with the Product Owner to map business requirements to technical designs and translate those into actionable user stories for the team.
Documentation: Create visual and written documentation that provides both business context and technical guidance for development teams, ensuring solutions align with functional specifications and industry best practices.
Communication & Leadership: Provide clear, direct communication and leadership to team members, peers, and stakeholders. Advise Digital leadership on how to continuously improve technology processes and tools. Serve as a subject matter expert for data initiatives.
Mentorship: Mentor and collaborate with development team members, offering guidance on technical issues and work items.
Adaptability: Navigate ambiguous and uncertain situations by making informed decisions, identifying risks, and providing mitigation strategies.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with developments in AI/ML and other emerging technologies, and share new concepts and best practices with the team.
Qualifications & Skills
Platform Expertise: Extensive experience with the Salesforce platform, including administration, customization, and development using tools like APEX, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, Flow, and Process Builder.
Technical Acumen: Deep experience with technologies that manage Cambria's customer data lifecycle, including:
Customer Relationship Management: Salesforce
Service & Marketing Automation: Salesforce, Marketo
Data Management: Snowflake, Salesforce DataCloud
Architectural Experience: Hands-on experience with event-driven architecture, enterprise messaging, and microservices.
Methodology: Proven experience with Scaled Agile in Agile development environments, utilizing agile lifecycle management tools such as Jira.
Communication: Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical solutions to diverse audiences, from development teams to executive stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience: 10+ years delivering solutions leveraging out-of-the-box functionality as well as building customized solutions using Salesforce Sales, Service, and Experience cloud tools.
Systems: Experience with software development tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkens. An understanding of .Net services, Kafka (Messaging), Snowflake (Data Lake).

Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally / sparingly (office supplies, packages, samples). May need to bend, reach, walk, or stoop occasionally. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Travel Requirements: May be required to travel between Cambria locations
Cambria’s starting salary range for this position is $142,000 - $186,000. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.
