Marshfield Medical Center is seeking a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The NP or PA is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.Summary
The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides advanced nursing care to patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. This includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care in collaboration with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team. The NP promotes patient education and disease prevention.Job Description
Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments including histories, physical exams, and interpretation of diagnostic tests (e.g., EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests). Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with cardiologists. Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state licensure and hospital policy. Manage patients with heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and other cardiovascular conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Provide patient education regarding disease processes, medications, lifestyle modifications, and risk factor reduction. Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals and services. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research as appropriate. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. If APRN was licensed prior to August 1, 1995, master's degree in nursing is preferred.Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
