Job Description:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a key provider working across the perioperative continuum. You will deliver comprehensive care before and after anesthesia and actively support the Acute Pain Service (APS), ensuring safe, effective patient care in collaboration with Anesthesiologists and Surgeons.

Key Responsibilities (3 Areas)

1. Preoperative Care:

-Conduct comprehensive evaluations (interview, exam, chart review).

-Focus on cardiopulmonary optimization and anesthesia risk stratification.

-Arrange necessary consults/testing to optimize surgical readiness.

-Educate patients and obtain informed consent.

2. Acute Pain Service (APS):

-Assist with placement and management of peripheral nerve blocks and epidural catheters.

-Provide patient education on regional anesthesia care (including discharge with catheters).

-Serve as a clinical resource for staff on APS protocols.

3. Postoperative / PACU Care:

-Perform thorough post-op assessments.

-Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic tests.

-Initiate and adjust orders (pain, antiemetics, fluids).

-Rapidly respond to anesthesia/pain emergencies.

-Determine readiness for transfer/discharge.

Qualifications

· Education: Master’s degree (NP or PA).

· Licensure: Current NP or PA license in state of practice.

· Certifications: National certification and DEA registration (if applicable).

· Experience (Preferred): Minimum of 2 years in perioperative, anesthesia, or acute pain management.

Setting

Hospital-based, fast-paced, collaborative environment requiring flexibility for pre-op, post-op, and APS procedural support.

 

 

Pay Range:

$133,515.20 USD - $181,563.20 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
