Step into a role where your work genuinely changes lives. As an AOD Case Worker with The Salvation Army, you’ll walk alongside participants on their recovery journey, providing evidence‑based support that empowers them to reduce harm, build independence, and reclaim their future.
Build strong, trust‑based relationships that inspire participants to take charge of their recovery
Deliver person‑centred, holistic assessments, including screening for co‑occurring mental health needs and coordinating referrals
Support participants’ spiritual wellbeing through the TSA AOD Spirituality Framework
Develop meaningful, measurable goals and track progress with participants
Provide coordinated, wrap‑around care through advocacy, collaboration, and service partnerships
Use proven AOD interventions such as CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and Relapse Prevention
Facilitate engaging bio‑psycho‑social education groups, including our signature Foundations program
Connect participants with TSA programs—chaplaincy, financial counselling, employment services, volunteering, community activities, and more
Conduct risk assessments and respond confidently to critical incidents
A relevant degree (preferred) or diploma with strong industry experience
Experience in an AOD recovery residential setting
A current driver’s licence
Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free + $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
Generous Paid Parental leave for primary (12 weeks) & secondary carers, Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.
