Job Summary
• This role is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire software quality assurance process within the organization. The role involves setting quality standards, defining testing strategies, leading QA teams, and ensuring that software products meet the highest levels of quality and reliability. The role works closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to drive continuous improvement in the software development and testing processes.

Responsibilities
• Provides direct and ongoing leadership for a team of individual contributors designing and implementing quality assurance and test processes and coordinating projects for end-user applications, systems software, and firmware running on hardware, local, networked, and Internet-based platforms.
• Defines QA processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent and effective testing across projects.
• Develops and implements a comprehensive QA strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Evaluates and improves QA processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and automation of testing activities.
• Manages headcount, deliverables, schedules, and costs for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that resources are appropriately allocated and that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
• Communicates QA progress, results, and challenges to executive leadership, project teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborates with external vendors and partners to ensure the quality of outsourced or third-party software components.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Provides people-care management for assigned team members, including hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans,coaching, and career development.
• Ensures that proper knowledge and career development tools are in place to support ongoing team member and process development.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in software quality assurance, test harnesses and QA focused tools, or a related field.

• Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE)
