The Analytics Governance role, primarily acting as the Characteristics Governance Lead, is essential for ensuring the integrity, reliability, and strategic alignment of all analytical services within Data and Analytics. They will leverage strong business analysis skills and analytics experience within the Credit Risk industry to establish and maintain robust governance frameworks. A core focus for the Characteristics Governance Lead is ensuring analytical models and services, particularly those related to characteristic maintenance and deployment for the Credit Reference Bureau, adhere to established standards and best practices, with a strong emphasis on metadata management.

As the Characteristics Governance Lead, this role acts as a key enforcer of quality and compliance across analytical services, safeguarding their accuracy and trustworthiness. Effective stakeholder management across different analytical and business units is critical. They provide oversight and structure for characteristic deployment, clarifying roles and responsibilities.

Furthermore, the Characteristics Governance Lead is responsible for documenting and publishing the Characteristic Release procedure and all relevant artefacts. The Characteristics Governance Lead will also coordinate with all relevant business units to facilitate the development and maintenance of key characteristic implementation procedures and the ongoing submission of characteristic monitoring results to the Analytics Council.Main Duties and Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Establish and Maintain Characteristics Governance Frameworks: Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive analytics governance policies, procedures, and standards, specifically focusing on characteristic maintenance, deployment, and associated analytical services within the Credit Reference Bureau context.

  • Manage Stakeholder Collaboration and Characteristic Deployment: Work closely with Client Analytics, Product Analytics, and Core Analytics teams to embed governance principles into their characteristic workflows, clarifying roles and responsibilities for characteristic deployment and release.

  • Coordinate Characteristic Monitoring and Reporting: Coordinate with relevant business units for the ongoing submission of characteristic monitoring results to the Analytics Council and generate regular reports on governance compliance and characteristic-related analytical performance.

  • Ensure Characteristic Quality and Compliance: Oversee the quality assurance of characteristic-related  services, ensuring adherence to internal policies, industry regulations, and ethical guidelines, with a strong emphasis on data integrity and metadata management.

  • Document and Publish Characteristic Procedures: Establish and maintain thorough documentation for the Characteristic Release procedure, key characteristic implementation procedures, and all relevant artefacts.

  • Mitigate Characteristic-Related Risk: Identify and mitigate risks associated with analytical models and data usage, particularly concerning characteristics used in credit risk assessment.

  • Training and Awareness: Provide guidance and training to analytics teams on characteristic governance best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve characteristics governance processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic alignment.

What Experience You Need

  • Experience as a Business Analyst with a background in analytics.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data.

  • Demonstrable experience in the Credit Risk Industry.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Practical experience with metadata management tools and principles, including data lineage, business glossary, and data cataloging, ensuring data integrity and quality in analytics, tools and techniques.
