Analytics Engineer- Power BI & SQL

Job Summary

Our Analytics Engineers are part of a centralized, but dedicated group of expert analytics practitioners, all working in support of ResMed’s business strategy and objectives. As such, they are required to be equally skilled in the tools and methods of analytics development as they are in the contextual particulars of the business domain to which they are dedicated. Technical expertise, in combination with business acumen, is the collective, aspirational skill set that enables our Analytics Engineers to continually identify and build highly impactful and scalable solutions. 

Let’s talk about Responsibilities 

• Collaborate with team members to collect business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes, and design data models 
• Design, develop, and extend BI solutions that maximize impact and utility for data users and consumers 
• Maintain subject matter expertise in the application and usage of our data as well as our analytics technologies and tools 
• Create interactive dashboards with visualizations like charts, graphs, maps, and tables that effectively communicate complex data patterns, incorporating AI-enabled visuals like Key influencers, Anomaly detection, and decomposition tree 
• Leverage AI features in Power BI to create dashboards using design guidelines, templates, and requirements provided by the product and design teams to maintain data quality and consistency across reports and dashboards 
• Use Smart Narrative and AI-driven insights to provide meaningful context and explanations within the dashboards. 
• Provide training and support to end users on navigating and utilizing dashboards and reports, using AI-enabled features, including AI-assisted templates 
• Stay up to date with PowerBI features and enhancements and implement them across dashboards and reports 
• Build data models that minimize the cognitive and technical overhead that is required to find and use analytical insights 

Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience  

Required (Qualifications/experiences that are an absolute must for the position) 

• 4+ years of experience in Data & Analytics as an analyst, engineer, or equivalent 
• 3+ years of experience building responsive data visualizations using Power BI, including advanced DAX and data modeling 
• 2+ years of experience designing, implementing, operating, and extending enterprise dimensional models using Analysis Services 
• 2+ years of experience with MS SQL Stack (SSIS, Analysis Services, and Tabular Model Solutions, MDX, DAX) 
• Hands-on experience with AI-enabled Power BI features like Key Influencers, Anomaly Detection and AI-assisted templates 
• Solid Knowledge of SQL, Power Query, and ETL processes 
• Experience building end-to-end BI solutions 
• Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex business activities, technical requirements, and recommendations clearly and concisely 
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage priorities and workflow 
• Demonstrated experience creating and developing partnerships with internal team members towards the delivery of impactful analytics solutions 
• Demonstrated understanding of data analysis and business intelligence principles, ability to identify trends and patterns within data sets 

Preferred (Qualifications/experiences that are preferred for the position) 

• Exceptional communication skills, specifically the ability to translate technical requirements into business context and value 
• Experience working closely with Data Engineers, Product Owners, Data Scientists, UX/UI Design Team, and Machine Learning Engineers to extend the value and impact of analytics solutions
